COLD REMEDY SYRUP
A simple yet effective all natural cold remedy to use when feeling sick or as preventative medicine. Citrus is rich in Vitamin C, honey is filled with antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
Ingredients:
One lemon sliced
One lime sliced
One ginger knob sliced
Local honey
Directions:
Stack lemon lime and ginger into a small or medium size jar
Add in honey until the jar is filled to the top and fruit is saturated
Store in fridge for at least 2 hours before use
Take a tablespoon by mouth, stir in hot water or in tea. Can be taken daily.
ALL CITRUS VITAMIN C POWDER
If you ever heard that citrus peels hold high amounts of Vitamin C, you heard correct. This Vitamin C powder is made from only one ingredient: citrus peel! It has a long shelf life and is easy to add into your daily diet.
Ingredients:
Peel of one medium orange or grapefruit
Directions:
Tear peels down to 1.4 inches (the size of a paper clip)
Leave in an open air container, out of direct sunlight for 48 hours
Blend on high speed for 1 minute
Transfer to an air tight container
Can be stored in an air-tight container in a cool, dark place for 3 months or up to 6 months in the freezer.
Stir into your water, smoothies or juices in the mornings. For skincare, mix a teaspoon with your favourite clay powder for a Vitamin C boosting face mask. Try it with french green clay powder.
calming sun & flowers body oil
Our body oil recipe calms skin and mind. The carrier oils are gentle on skin and lock in moisture, flowers are infused to capture their very essential anti-inflammatory properties. This oil can be used in aromatherapy treatments.
Ingredients:
Sunflower oil or olive oil
Dried calendula
Dried jasmine
Dried chamomile
5 drops of an essential oil of your choice (we used lavender)
Directions:
Fill up a 16oz jar with flowers and herbs of choice about 1/8 from the mouth of the jar
Pour in carrier oil leaving a thing layer of oil above the flowers and herbs
Close jar and gently roll the jar with palms, further saturating the flowers & herbs
Place by a window, out of direct sunlight for a minimum of two weeks
Strain oil from herbs into an air tight container
Mix in 5 drops of essential oil
Gently shake and store in a dark cool place
This calming oil can be mixed with your favourite cremes and lotions. Pour a 1/4 cup of the calming oil into a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes or longer. Perfect to use directly on pressure points, like the temples whenever feelings of stress arise.
